... the desire to play together,

the necessity to live and share emotions,

the constant search for  new colours and nuances,

the subtle playing with dynamics and phrasing:

these are the ingredients of Zephyrus Flutes Orchestra.

The orchestra, founded in January 2011 by Marco Zoni principal flutist  at the La Scala Opera House in Milan, arises directly from the evocative spirit of “Flauto, che passione!!!”, the educational and music event dedicated to flute lovers of all ages and abilities, which has taken place regularly  in Brescia since 2008.

The orchestra, which proposes and promotes personal transcriptions of famous works of the chamber music, symphonic and opera repertoire, can vary according to the programme presented; basically it is composed of a piccolo/soprano flute in F, eight flutes in C, three alto flutes in G, a bass flute in C and one in F.

The  permanent members of the orchestra are musicians from some of the most prestigious musical realities in Italy including: La Scala of Milan, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan and renowned teachers from Conversatoires and Music Schools.

Wide praise from audiences and critics:

“...un concerto molto apprezzato e applaudito,

una musica che per oltre novanta minuti ha estasiato i presenti.”

“...un caldo rosolarsi di melodie, suono fuso, avvolgente,

frasi lunghe e morbide, intonazione, esattezza ritmica, verve.”

(Giornale Brescia)

“...ascoltare l'orchestra Zephyrus ricorda

il suono dei grandi organi da chiesa...”

(Eco di Bergamo)

"…se in paradiso esiste un suono

è sicuramente il suono dell’orchestra Zephyrus”

(Philippe Bernold, Flautissimo 2013)
